Belarusian pulp and wood products could gain greater access to the Turkmen market following a business mission to Ashgabat that identified new export opportunities for the country's forestry and wood processing industries.
The visit, organized by the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, coincided with the 25th International Exhibition and Conference "White City Ashgabat 2026."
During meetings with Turkmen enterprises, government agencies, and industry representatives, the Belarusian delegation discussed potential supplies of a range of industrial and consumer products. In the forestry and pulp and paper sectors, Turkmen companies expressed strong interest in sourcing Belarusian fiberboard and particleboard products, while negotiations are also progressing on potential exports of Belarusian pulp.
The discussions highlight growing demand for wood-based materials in Central Asia and could create new export channels for Belarusian producers seeking to expand their presence in the region.
Alongside negotiations in the forest products sector, agreements were reached covering supplies of interior doors, machinery, medical equipment, and street lighting systems to Turkmenistan.
A key part of the visit included discussions with Stanislav Chepurny, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Turkmenistan, focusing on trade development, business conditions, and opportunities to increase bilateral supplies of goods and services.
The mission underscores efforts by Belarusian manufacturers to strengthen commercial ties with Central Asian markets, with pulp, fiberboard, and particleboard emerging as areas of particular interest in ongoing trade discussions between the two countries.
