In the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, the foundation stone of the new plant and automated warehouse in Dunaföldvár was laid on January 20, 2026, marking the third development phase of the Vajda-Papír Group. The Hungarian-owned company announced a comprehensive expansion program encompassing four projects: capacity expansion, related training, renewable energy production, and profit repatriation investments, totaling 70.8 billion forints. The Hungarian government provides 24.9 billion forints in non-refundable support, with the initiatives creating 64 new jobs. Hungary's leading tissue paper manufacturer aims to bolster export capacity and supply security through increased processing and automated logistics. The flagship Dunaföldvár project, valued at 23.2 billion forints with 6.9 billion in government aid, includes a new production hall housing two modern roll processing machines for toilet paper, hand towels, and paper handkerchiefs, raising annual capacity from 140,000 tons by 30,000 tons. A fully automated high-bay warehouse for 44,000 pallets, operating without human intervention, will be completed by end-2026, generating 50 jobs. A 1.4 billion forint training program, supported by 721.6 million forints, creates 10 jobs to enhance paper industry expertise and efficiency. The Factory Rescue Program funds a 13.1 billion forint solar park, adding 4 jobs. A 33 billion forint capacity expansion under profit repatriation receives 11.6 billion forints in aid. In 2025, the group reported 5.3% net sales growth to nearly 75 billion forints, 3% profit before tax rise to 3.7 billion forints, EBITDA of 7.5 billion forints, and over 10% higher finished product sales, driven by export and public sector gains amid stagnant domestic demand. Attila Vajda, founding managing director, emphasized building a full vertical production and logistics chain for competitive, sustainable operations and national self-sufficiency, with further renewable energy plans ahead. He highlighted the company's development milestones to date.
