Valmet completed its four-year Beyond Circularity research and development program, part of Business Finland's Veturi initiative launched in 2022. The program involved over 370 partners and focused on advancing sustainability to help customer industries reach carbon neutrality and support green transitions. Guided by seven strategic streams, it covered recycling, bio-refining, resource efficiency, automation, and disruptive business models. More than 400 Valmet employees contributed across all business areas, fostering ecosystem-driven work and cultural change toward collaboration. Olli Hänninen, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Transformation, stated the results strengthen Valmet's leadership in green transition technologies, aligning with its strategy for a regenerative future. Viivi Villa-Nuottajärvi, Vice President of Strategic R&D, highlighted involvement of 47 funded joint projects and learning in ecosystem operations. Several ecosystems will continue post-program, ensuring ongoing innovation in circular economy solutions.
