Valmet Concludes Negotiations, Retains Option for Temporary Layoffs in Packaging and Paper Units

December 8-Finland - Valmet Oyj announced on December 8, 2025, the completion of change negotiations initiated on November 10, 2025, for temporary layoffs in its Packaging and Paper Machines business unit under the Packaging and Paper business area, and the Global Supply unit in Finland. The discussions, aimed at adjusting capacity and boosting cost efficiency, involved over 950 employees across all groups, primarily in Jyväskylä, Tikkurila in Vantaa, and Raisio. While no immediate layoffs are confirmed, Valmet reserves the right to implement them if needed during the first half of 2026, targeting personnel in the Packaging and Paper Machines unit and the P&P Manufacturing unit's machine workshop and foundry in Jyväskylä.
