Valmet is bolstering its Latin American presence by constructing a new facility in Sorocaba, São Paulo, Brazil, to house valve production and administrative offices for its Flow Control and Automation Solutions businesses. Set for completion in the first half of 2026, this built-to-suit (BTS) unit doubles the size of the existing plant, enhancing delivery speeds for mission-critical valves, actuators, and positioners vital to pulp and paper operations.

The expansion targets process industries including pulp & paper, mining, refineries, petrochemicals, and biofuels, featuring a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) area for automation projects. Fabio Maia, VP of Flow Control Latin America, emphasized faster availability to meet customer demands for productivity, safety, and sustainability. This strategic move positions Valmet closer to regional mills, supporting efficient flow control in fiber processing, chemical recovery, and wastewater systems amid rising bioeconomy investments in South America.
