Valmet continues advancing circular economy principles through Bioneer press roll covers. These innovative products incorporate recycled, renewable, and bio-based raw materials, reducing dependence on fossil resources while maintaining high performance standards.
The Bioneer covers apply to diverse press and suction roll positions across board, paper, tissue, and pulp drying machines. They deliver equivalent durability, wear resistance, and dewatering efficiency compared to traditional covers.
Ulla Kanerva, Global Technology Manager for Roll Covers and Maintenance at Valmet, stated: "Our customers seek solutions enhancing machine performance alongside sustainability goals. Bioneer roll covers provide high-performance technology with verified climate impact data, strengthening Valmet's position as a roll cover technology leader and sustainability partner."
These covers mark an industry first by including product-specific life cycle assessment data. The Valmet Press Roll Cover PF Bioneer achieves up to 12.2 percent lower cradle-to-gate CO₂ emissions than standard products, utilizing REDcert²-certified renewable and recycled materials through mass balance methodology.
Sanna Junttonen, Global Product Manager for Roll Covers and Maintenance, noted: "Transparent LCA data helps customers compare climate impacts, make informed choices, and track progress toward climate targets."
