Valmet to Install a New Advantage ThruAir Tissue line for Sofidel America

Valmet has announced a significant enhancement of Sofidel America’s ultra-premium tissue production with a new Advantage ThruAir tissue line scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2028. This advanced line, with a paper width of 5.6 meters and an annual production capacity of 75,000 tons, is designed to meet growing market demand in North America by delivering excellent paper properties while optimizing fiber use. Valmet’s full scope of supply includes complete tissue production equipment, automation via the Valmet DNA Distributed Control System (DCS), machine condition monitoring, quality control with Valmet IQ, and Web Monitoring System (WMS), along with industrial Internet solutions and performance services. Sofidel, a leading global tissue producer based in Italy, currently operates 14 production sites across 11 U.S. states and continues to expand capacity to strengthen its market position. This project further underscores the long-term partnership and shared innovation goals between Valmet and Sofidel in advancing tissue production technology and sustainability.
