Krško, Slovenia — Vipap Videm Krško d.d., one of Slovenia’s longest-established paper manufacturers and a leading supplier of publication and packaging paper in Central and Southeastern Europe, has entered formal bankruptcy proceedings.
The decision to commence bankruptcy proceedings was made and registered on 25 February 2026, following extensive financial challenges and obligations to its creditors. Under the bankruptcy order, all creditors of the company are now being requested to submit claims before the deadlines set by the bankruptcy court and appointed insolvency administrators.
Vipap Videm Krško, founded in 1939 and headquartered in the town of Krško, Slovenia, has been a cornerstone of the Slovenian paper industry for decades, producing a wide range of newsprint, magazine and packaging papers used domestically and exported across Europe.
In recent years, the company faced ongoing financial pressures and industry headwinds, including shifts in global paper demand and competitive market conditions. Despite previous restructuring efforts and production adjustments, these challenges culminated in the decision to seek bankruptcy protection under Slovenian law.
The company’s management and court-appointed administrators are focusing on an orderly legal process, ensuring transparency for all stakeholders and compliance with regulatory requirements. Vipap Videm’s board has emphasized its commitment to cooperating fully with authorities and stakeholders during this period.
At this stage, no further operational or workforce decisions have been confirmed publicly. Additional information on creditor claims, timelines, and potential restructuring measures will be provided by the insolvency administrators as proceedings develop.
