Visy officially opened its new Tasmanian Packaging Hub in Devonport to serve the state's farmers, food processors, and beverage companies. Australian Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Julie Collins officiated the event, highlighting the facility's role in supporting local jobs and Tasmania's agriculture sector valued at over $2 billion annually. The modern 8,500 square meter warehouse and office complex supplies cardboard packaging made from Visy's own kraft and 100% recycled paper, ensuring reliable delivery for berry growers, produce packers, breweries, and dairy operations. CEO Mark De Wit emphasized the investment as a long-term commitment to Tasmanian manufacturing, enabling premium local products to reach Australian supermarket shelves and regional export markets more efficiently. The hub enhances customer responsiveness with expanded capacity and dedicated service support.
