Voith Paper Reaches 1,000 Polyurethane-Coated Rolls Milestone in South America

– Voith Paper has produced its 1,000th polyurethane-coated roll at its coating facility in São Paulo, marking a significant milestone in its South American operations and reinforcing its position in roll coating technologies for the pulp and paper industry.

The achievement builds on the company’s broader production history in the region. Since the inauguration of its roll coating operations in 2002, Voith Paper has coated more than 5,850 rolls and cylinders, surpassing a previous milestone of 5,000 units.

Roll coating plays a critical role in pulp and paper manufacturing, with products tailored to different stages of the production process. These coatings contribute to improved dewatering, higher productivity, reduced downtime, and extended equipment lifespan.

Polyurethane coatings have gained traction due to their durability and operational efficiency. The material offers high wear resistance and stability over time while enabling increased open surface area. This enhances dewatering efficiency, supporting improved machine performance and final product quality.

The company attributes the milestone to its globally integrated research and development structure, which enables continuous product updates and adaptation to regional market needs.
