Wuzhou Special Paper Industry (Jiangxi) Co., Ltd. has announced a major investment of RMB 5,440,217,300 to significantly expand its paper production operations in the Hukou High-tech Industrial Park, further strengthening its position in China’s specialty and information paper markets.

The expansion project will be constructed on a newly added plot within the company’s south plant area, covering approximately 464.88 mu (309,919.47 square meters). The site is strategically located at coordinates 116°23′0.951″E, 29°49′51.617″N within Hukou High-tech Industrial Park.

Over 1 Million Tons of New Annual Capacity

The large-scale project is designed to add more than 1 million tons of annual paper production capacity, including:

  • 400,000 tons of high-grade information paper

  • 700,000 tons of paper products

  • 100,000 tons of coated paper

The project will not include pulping operations. Instead, fiber supply will rely on mechanical pulp generated within the project framework and externally purchased commercial pulp.

Multiple Advanced Production Lines

The expansion includes construction of several new production lines:

  • One 220,000-ton/year information paper production line

  • One 180,000-ton/year cultural paper production line

  • One 300,000-ton/year tissue paper production line

  • Two 25,000-ton/year household paper production lines

  • Multiple 50,000-ton/year specialty paper production lines, including:

    • Wood grain paper

    • Decorative paper

    • Food and medical-grade paper

    • Specialty packaging paper

    • Industrial lining paper

    • Thermal paper

  • One 100,000-ton/year coated paper production line

Base paper for coating will be sourced from the first phase of the project, while coating solutions will be prepared in-house to enhance quality control and operational integration.

Vertical Integration and Environmental Commitment

To further improve product performance and operational efficiency, the company will also manufacture its own carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) for use in papermaking additives and coating formulations.

Recognizing the environmental responsibilities associated with expanded production, the company plans to construct a new Phase III wastewater treatment facility to manage increased effluent volumes and ensure full regulatory compliance.
