Zomato has launched PackSwitch, an interactive platform designed to help restaurants identify sustainable packaging options for different dishes.

The platform uses a three-step process in which restaurants select a dish, explore suitable sustainable packaging materials and browse relevant suppliers. PackSwitch provides information on packaging performance, business viability and environmental impact, while offering access to a network of more than 100 verified suppliers across India.

The initiative is intended to address challenges restaurants face when replacing plastic packaging, including cost, functionality, availability and disposal.

PackSwitch builds on Zomato’s Plastic-Free Future programme, which has recognised more than 10,000 restaurants across more than 500 cities for adopting alternatives to plastic packaging. As of March 31, 2026, these restaurants had collectively delivered more than 100 million orders using low-plastic packaging.

The platform also includes sustainable packaging solutions from Hyperpure, Eternal’s B2B supply platform serving more than 100,000 restaurant outlets across India.
